Accuplacer Test Administration
Accuplacer testing is given during the regular fall, spring, and summer semesters in the Math Zone across from the Cook Library. Placement tests are not given between semesters or during finals week.
Accuplacer testing can only be used for the following:
- To challenge OUT of taking MAT 101S or MAT 100S if the student has between 16 and 19 on the math subscore of the ACT
- To challenge INTO enrolling in MAT 102, 103, 114, or 167 if the student has a math subscore on the ACT of 20 or higher
Accuplacer testing can NOT be used if any of the following apply:
- The student has less than 16 on the math subscore of the ACT
- The student did not take the ACT, and the student is not an international student.
- The student did not send their ACT scores to the University for consideration, and the student is not an international student.
Scheduling to Take the Test
Students should email mathzoneFREEMississippi to schedule to take the test.
The Day of the Test/Paying for the Test
The fee for the test is $10.00 and should be paid in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences office in before the test appointment time. Students should bring the receipt and a photo ID with them to the Math Zone. A calculator is provided on the computer. Test results are given as soon as the test is completed.
Placement Test Information: Preparing for the Test
The most recent version of this test is known as 'Next Generation Accuplacer: Advanced Algebra and Functions鈥� through the CollegeBoard company.
Students can view sample content and problems to prepare for the placement test at the following website.
Placement Test: Cutoff Scores
All students now take 鈥楢dvanced Algebra and Functions Test鈥� for placement. Next Generation scores range from 200-300.

Note: MAT 099 is no longer offered at 麻豆传媒. Students scoring less than 235 on the Accuplacer test will be required to concurrently enroll in MAT 100 and MAT 100S OR MAT 101 and MAT 101S. There is no co-requisite course for MAT 115.
