Teacher Residency Programs at Âé¶¹´«Ã½

Under guidance from the , the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ School of Education offers the Golden Eagle Teacher Residency Program with
both undergraduate and graduate pathways. This fundamentally different approach to training teacher candidates integrates
a year-long mentored teaching experience with academic coursework that aligns with
everyday classroom experiences, allowing graduates to enter their first full-time
jobs with invaluable preparation and a true understanding of what it takes to be a
teacher.
After becoming the first Registered Teacher Apprenticeship program in the state of Mississippi in 2024, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ was awarded an Apprenticeship Building America grant worth $3.8 million from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Employment and Training Administration.
